VS Steel Coating Intumescent
Product Description
VS Steel Coating Intumescent provides fire protection for structural steel members. Under fire conditions, the coating expands to form a thick, foam-like char layer, which insulates the steel surface and prevents rapid heat transfer to the steel core that could lead to structural collapse due to loss of mechanical strength in case of fire.
Steel loses mechanical strength at around 550°C, making it highly susceptible to sudden collapse & failure during fire exposure. When all exposed steel surfaces are coated with VS Steel Coating Intumescent, a fire resistance rating of up to 2 hours can be achieved.
This paint-like coating is easy to apply—either during prefabrication or after structural installation—by spray or brush application.
VS Steel Coating Intumescent withstands aging, vibrations, and ambient temperature variations, while maintaining strong adhesion and consistent performance. The system is ecologically safe, non-toxic, and does not release harmful gases during fire exposure. It is also resistant to vermin, termites, and rodents, ensuring long-term reliability in fire protection of both industrial and commercial steel structures
