VS Steel Coating VM
Product Description
VS Steel Coating VM is a cementitious structural steel coating designed to provide fire resistance and thermal insulation to steel structures. It effectively prevents collapse of structural steel due to loss of load bearing capacity during fire exposure.
Steel typically loses its mechanical strength at around 550°C, making it highly susceptible to deformation and failure in a fire conditions. When all exposed steel surfaces are coated with VS Steel Coating VM, a fire resistance rating of up to 2 hours can be achieved.
The coating is applied over a reinforcement metal lath, which is securely fixed to the steel structure using welded studs. Before application, the steel surface must be treated with an anti-corrosive primer to ensure proper adhesion and long-term durability.
VS Steel Coating VM is engineered to withstand weathering, aging, vibrations, temperature fluctuations, and water logging. It is non-toxic, halogen-free, and resistant to vermin, termites, and rodents, making it a robust and reliable choice for protection of steel structures from fire in an industrial and commercial establishment.
